    What was it all about?

In 2023, this project delivered a five-year export strategy for the Australian summerfruit industry. The strategy is a resource for summerfruit growers and exporters looking to develop their export capability and take advantage of international market opportunities to grow their exports. The strategy will also inform current and future levy investment in export projects related to market access, industry capability or international market development.

The strategy highlights the short, medium and long-term opportunities that are available, and what actions would be required from industry and government to take advantage of them.

The Strategy identified activities across four pillars:

    • Maintain and expand market access.
    • Enhance industry collaboration.
    • Achieve growth through targeted market development.
    • Optimise the supply chain.

The Export Strategy and Market Profile Report were validated with a Project Reference Group, consisting of industry representatives and the peak industry body, Summerfruit Australia.
