National Bee Pest Surveillance Program (PH25001)
This project supports the continuation of the National Bee Pest Surveillance Program (NBPSP), a coordinated, risk-based initiative to detect exotic and regionally significant bee pests.
Completed project
Stone fruit communications project (SF12009)
Publication date: November 13, 2016
Delivery Partner: The NSW Department of Primary Industries
Following on from Low chill stonefruit, industry communications (SF09017) this project focused on expanding and improving communication to the whole Australian summerfruit industry.
Ensuring industry is kept up-to-date on R&D and marketing activities, news, events and other critical information allows growers, researchers and industry stakeholders to tackle issues and make supported decisions, and encourages the uptake of new research and technology.
Over the life of the two projects (SF09017 and SF12009) the industry’s key output publication was changed from a magazine servicing the low chill industry to an e-journal reaching stonefruit growers nationwide, Australian Stonefruit Grower.
A reader survey conducted in 2015 revealed that 95 per cent of respondents found the e-journal to be useful and 75 per cent felt it had helped them with their decision-making.
Project SF12009, which ran from 2013 to 2016, also used email and web-based industry alerts, updates and notices.
