Educational resources on the health and nutrition benefits of dried fruits (MT25009)
This project aims to strengthen awareness of the health and nutrition benefits of dried fruits, developed in partnership with the Australian dried fruits industry.
Completed project
International dried grape conference participation and FoodNews (DG15700)
Publication date: February 11, 2016
Delivery Partner: Dried Fruits Australia
This project supported industry attendance at the International Dried Grape Conference in 2014 (San Juan, Argentina) and 2015 (Hamburg, Germany), to allow the Australian sector to learn about new technologies, best practice management and handling systems from international counterparts, as well as global market expectations.
The conferences provided a networking opportunity for the Australian industry to further develop contacts with growers, processors and researchers. Associated field trips and visits to overseas processing facilities also provided valuable insights that will improve Australia’s ability to compete.
Detailed reports on the conferences were provided to growers and other industry stakeholders at various forums, Dried Fruits Australia branch meetings and through articles in The Vine magazine and Dried Fruits Australia e-newsletters.
The project also funded an industry subscription to FoodNews, with access for industry stakeholders, ensuring a supply of global information on weather, currency movements, political issues and other matters.
This project was a strategic levy investment in the Hort Innovation Dried Grape Fund
