New year, new professional development opportunities: Applications open for IFPA Produce Executive Program

As we step into 2026, it’s the perfect time to set fresh professional development goals - and the International Fresh Produce Alliance (IFPA) Produce Executive Program is here to help you achieve them.  

This highly regarded program is designed to equip current and emerging leaders in the fresh produce industry with the skills, insights, and networks needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global market. 

What’s included in the program? 

Participants will gain access to immersive learning experiences, executive-level training, and exposure to international best practices.  

The program covers leadership development, strategic thinking, supply chain innovation, and global market trends, all delivered by industry experts and thought leaders. 

Hort Innovation is proud to support this initiative through scholarships offered under the following projects: 

  • Vegetable Produce Executive Program Scholarship (VG24012): A vegetable levy funded project offering eight full scholarships to people in vegetable levy paying businesses.  
  • Produce Executive Program Scholarship (LP25001): A Frontiers project offering 12 partial scholarships open to all Australian horticulture supply chain members. 

These scholarships ensure that Australian horticulture professionals have the opportunity to participate and bring back valuable knowledge to continue strengthening our industry.

Other professional development opportunities 

Beyond the IFPA Produce Executive Program, Hort Innovation funds a range of initiatives to help you grow your skills and leadership capabilities.  

  • The Growing Leaders project (VG23009)provides tailored training for emerging leaders in the vegetable industry.
  • Professional development opportunities are also embedded in projects such as the Melon training and leadership program (VM22003) and Horticulture National Lean Leaders Program (MT22011), which focus on building technical expertise and cross-industry collaboration.
  • Additionally, programs like Nursery Emerging Leaders Program (NY24004) and Growing almond leaders (AL23003) offer pathways for knowledge sharing and leadership development across the relevant sectors.
