Vegetable Industry study tours (VG23002)

Summary:
This project will deliver a series of international study tours for Australian vegetable and onion growers, designed to expose them to cutting-edge research, technologies, and practices from leading global horticultural regions. By visiting strategic growing areas, innovation centres, and international conferences, participants will gain valuable insights that can be applied to improve productivity, profitability, and sustainability within the Australian vegetable industry. The tours are aligned with the Vegetable Industry Strategic Investment Plan 2022–2026 and aim to build the capability of levy-paying growers and supply chain members through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
The program will also generate industry-wide benefits by capturing and sharing key learnings through reports, presentations, and events. Participants will contribute insights to help identify future research priorities and investment opportunities. With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and guided by a dedicated Project Reference Group, the project will help ensure the Australian vegetable industry remains competitive and resilient. By fostering global connections and innovation, the project will strengthen the sector’s long-term viability and responsiveness to emerging challenges.
