Annual Vegetable Industry Seminar (VG20000)

Key research provider: AUSVEG
Publication date: Tuesday, November 23, 2021

What was it all about?

In 2021 this short project delivered the Annual Vegetable Industry Seminar (AVIS), run in conjunction with Hort Connections 2021. The seminar was attended by over 300 growers and industry members and showcased investments in several major levy-funded areas, including VegKIT, VegNET, export development and horticulture industry marketing to highlight the impact these major projects had on the vegetable and wider horticulture industry.

The project also delivered three webinars, all of which were recorded and hosted on the AUSVEG website. Two of the project’s webinars informed growers and industry stakeholders on the refresh of the vegetable industry’s Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) for 2022-2026 and provided an opportunity for industry feedback.

The third webinar focused on raising industry awareness of the recently-identified exotic pest American Serpentine leafminer and to highlight the issues –and potential solutions in management of this pest. For more information on his particular topic and to see other relevant projects in this area, go to the serpentine leafminer resource page on the Hort Innovation website.
