Removing barriers of food safety certification for vegetable exporters though GLOBALG.A.P. co-certification (VG16019)

Key research provider: Freshcare
Publication date: Wednesday, December 5, 2018

What was it all about?

This investment, which ran from 2016 to 2020, supported the benchmarking of the Freshcare Food Safety and Quality Standard (FSQ4) against the internationally recognised GlobalG.A.P. standard. Successful completion of this benchmarking, and recognition of the Freshcare Standard by GlobalG.A.P., will help streamline compliance processes for Australian vegetable growers accessing export markets.

The fully integrated farm assurance scheme Freshcare PLUS (IFA) has been fully completed and approved against GlobalG.A.P. IFA v5.2, utilising Freshcare Food Safety and Quality Edition 4.1 (FSQ4.1) and Freshcare Environmental Edition 3 (ENV3), with the Produce Safety Assurance application and assessment underway at the time of writing.
