Financial performance of Australian vegetable farms 2013-14 to 2015-16 (VG13068)

Key research provider: ABARES
Publication date: Thursday, January 19, 2017

What was it all about?

This project collected and disseminated representative data on the economic structure and financial performance of the Australian vegetable growing industry for the financial years 2013/14 to 2015/16. The aim was to assist industry stakeholders in developing plans for the long-term direction of the industry and their businesses.

This project was an extension of six surveys already conducted by ABARES from 2007/08 to 2012/13, building to nine years of production and financial performance data. This allows stakeholders to understand trends over time. Key indicators include the total value of the vegetable industry, farm cash income, rate of return, investment and debt.
