Mushroom RD&E Coordinator (MU23004)

Key research provider: Australian Mushroom Growers’ Association

What is it all about?

This investment supports the role of a Mushroom RD&E Coordinator, who will ensure that levy-funded mushroom RD&E investments are responsive to industry needs and deliver on industry expectations.

The coordinator will sit within the Australian Mushroom Growers’ Association (AMGA) and provide a central point of contact for all mushroom industry RD&E stakeholders. He or she will also directly engage with the industry on the development of R&D investments to support the industry.

The coordinator’s areas of focus will be working with Hort Innovation and industry to:

  • Coordinate RD&E delivery for the Australian mushroom industry, from investment concept to project completion.
  • Integrate mushroom R&D, extension, and communication investments.
  • Continue to raise the relevance and quality of RD&E for the mushroom industry.
  • Increase the pace and impact of mushroom RD&E
  •  Ensure mushroom industry investments are well-consulted with key industry stakeholders and domestic and international researchers (where appropriate).
  • Link historical, current and future mushroom RD&E projects with domestic and international researchers (where appropriate).
  • Maximise the collective value of mushroom industry RD&E investments.
