Key research provider: Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia Limited (PIEFA)
Publication date: Thursday, December 18, 2025

Project start date: December 2025
Project completion date: April 2027

This project will deliver a comprehensive suite of curriculum-aligned education resources to position the Australian potato (fresh and processed) and onion industries at the forefront of high school classrooms. The initiative will equip teachers and students to connect with sustainable agricultural production, nutritional health, and career pathways across the supply chain.

A key output of this project is the development of six engaging, differentiated resources for Years 7–10 across Science, Design and Technologies, Geography, Business and Economics, and Health and Physical Education. The program also includes two interactive Virtual Farm Tours (potato and onion), a teacher planting guide, a Potato Supply Chain Card Game (with onion template), and professional development webinars for teachers. These resources will be freely available via PIEFA’s Primezone and the Fresh Food Schools website, supported by a national teacher engagement and adoption campaign.
