National Bee Pest Surveillance Program (PH25001)
This project supports the continuation of the National Bee Pest Surveillance Program (NBPSP), a coordinated, risk-based initiative to detect exotic and regionally significant bee pests.
Completed project
Continuation of pilot systems to validate Pest Free Place of Production for Queensland fruit fly in the Yarra Valley (MT15028)
Publication date: December 17, 2018
Delivery Partner: The Department of Economic Development Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR)
This investment followed on from previous work to develop systems to validate ‘Pest Free Place of Production’ (PFPP) for Queensland fruit fly in the Yarra Valley. PFPP status helps support market access for local growers by enabling trade of host fruits to several domestic markets without the need for costly treatment and certification.
The project's work was supported by a number of industries before transitioning to an industry-funded (non-levy) and industry-governed project coordinated by the Yarra Valley PFPP Management Committee. Learn more about the new set-up here.
