Generation of data - Mango Methoxyfenozide residue trials (MG25001)

Key research provider: Eurofins Kalyx

Project start date: 23/12/2025

Project completion date: 11/09/2026

This project is designed to generate pesticide residue and crop safety data for Methoxyfenozide in mango crops, supporting the renewal of the minor use permit PER91798 with the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). The project will conduct two targeted GLP-compliant residue trials in major mango-growing regions, with all phases, planning, fieldwork, analysis, and reporting, monitored for quality assurance.

The data will then be analysed with the goal to retain the approved use of Methoxyfenozide for controlling mango shoot looper, a high-priority pest for growers, by providing robust data for regulatory approval. The analytical phase will be subcontracted to accredited laboratories, ensuring compliance with APVMA and OECD guidelines.

All project outputs will be disseminated, not commercialised, and the final report will be suitable for APVMA submission. This work will help maintain access to effective pest control options, supporting productivity and quality in the Australian mango industry.
