Key research provider: Australian Macadamia Society

What is it all about?

This project will deliver a risk and crisis management plan for the Australian macadamia industry to prevent potential issues from escalating into crises. It will also provide risk management training for key personnel within the industry.

The initiative will enhance the ability of industry stakeholders to handle crises effectively by developing a comprehensive reputation and risk mitigation framework tailored to the unique needs of the highly integrated Australian macadamia supply chain, which includes growers, handlers, processors, and other partners.

The project aims to bolster the industry’s capacity to manage risks by:

  • Supporting the identification of risks and the formulation of mitigation strategies and management plans.
  • Regularly updating the Australian macadamia industry’s reputation risk management framework, annually or as needed.
  • Preparing industry stakeholders to effectively manage crises by clearly defining their responsibilities and outlining the necessary resources for crisis management.

Overall, this initiative will equip the Australian macadamia industry with the tools and training needed to respond swiftly and effectively to issues, thereby safeguarding the industry’s reputation and stability.
