Macadamia crop forecasting 2020-2022 (MC18003)

Key research provider: The Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries
Publication date: Wednesday, June 1, 2022

What was it all about?

This investment was responsible for producing climate-adjusted macadamia crop forecasts for the industry each year from 2020 through 2022, along with longer-term forecasts out to 10 years.

Both yearly and future-looking forecasts have allowed for improved decision-making for macadamia businesses and the wider industry. The forecasting provided the information needed to maintain market confidence and price stability, allowed for better scheduling of processing, and informed infrastructure planning for future production increases and industry expansion.

The latest forecasted figures are available through the Australian Macadamia Society website.
