This project aims to support the Australian cherry industry in meeting export market aspirations and maintaining its reputation for premium quality cherries. Led by Cherry Growers Australia Ltd the project will aim to work toward:

The accreditation of growers for protocol export markets

Technical support for market access and improvement

Export workshops and capacity building for growers

Market development initiatives, including trade shows and importer briefings

Delivery of market intelligence and competitor analysis

Maintenance and update of the Cherry Export Manual

Risk management and emergency response planning for biosecurity incidents
For growers and industry stakeholders, the project will provide evidence-based insights, practical support for export compliance, and tools to enhance decision-making. Outputs will include updated manuals, workshop materials, market data, and technical resources. The project is expected to deliver immediate and long-term benefits, helping the industry scale exports from approximately 4,000 tonnes to a targeted 10,000 tonnes by 2030, while maintaining high quality standards and competitive positioning in international markets.
