Australian avocado unique selling proposition (AV20001)
What was it all about?
Beginning in 2021, this short investment developed a deeper understanding of avocado consumers in key export markets and identified key targets and growth opportunities to marketing communication and innovation.
The project focused on key export markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong and Indonesia. Data and insight were derived on how avocado consumers in each of these markets view, purchase and consume avocados at present, will inform potential opportunity areas for Australia avocados.
Key areas explored in the research included:
- Attitudes, behaviours and needs of different markets
- Brand perceptions among consumers
- Key drivers and barriers to purchase
- Shopping habits.
This project is a strategic levy investment in the Hort Innovation Avocado Fund.
