Completed project
Research and education of health professionals relating to the health benefits of almond consumption (AL12001)
Publication date: January 5, 2017
Delivery Partner: Almond Board of Australia
This project concluded in the 2016/17 financial year. Its objective was to position Australian almonds in the mind of key health influencers as a ‘nutritional solution’ they would recommend to patients and clients.
Using scientific evidence to educate health providers and advisors about the nutritional benefits of almonds was an integral part of the industry’s strategic growth strategy.
As part of this project Australian Almonds participated in 22 major health professional conferences and engaged with more than 22,000 health professionals between March 2013 and June 2016.
The project also developed key educational resources and fact sheets and promoted nutritional research from around the world, with contributions from Sports Dietitians Australia and the Dietitians Association of Australia.
These educational resources have continued to be regularly requested and made available to doctors, dieticians, diabetes educators and fitness trainers to give to their patients and clients.
Visit the Australian Almonds website for health professionals, which includes resources from this investment produced for a health audience.
