What was it all about?

This project strengthened the Australian almond industry by improving how research is shared, tested, and applied on farm. It delivered practical training, demonstration trials, updated spray guides, food safety protocols, and support for new varieties and rootstocks. Grower engagement was high, with strong participation in field days, short courses, and industry updates, showing clear demand for applied knowledge and better management tools.

The work focused on coordinating technology transfer across projects and regions, ensuring growers could access and use the latest findings. Key activities included field days, conference presentations, orchard visits, and the rollout of an almond management short course. Demonstration trials tested irrigation systems, new cultivars, and orchard practices under commercial conditions. The project also supported chemical registration processes, developed industry spray programs, improved budwood supply, and helped initiate new R&D projects such as pollination methods, financial tools, and quality assurance systems.
