Macadamia industry innovation and adoption (MC20000)
This project delivered a national innovation and adoption program to support Australian macadamia growers through a period of rapid industry growth and increasing production and market pressure.
Ongoing project
Plant growth regulators in on-farm turf establishment (TU24003)
Delivery Partner: University of Adelaide
This project aims to develop validated guidelines for the optimal use of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) across a range of turf species and growing conditions in Australia. Led by the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association, the initiative will involve industry consultation, controlled field trials, and stakeholder engagement to identify best-practice application rates, timing, and frequency. The goal is to improve turf quality, reduce mowing frequency, enhance water-use efficiency, and support more sustainable on-farm operations.
The project will deliver a suite of outputs including comprehensive PGR guidelines, economic analysis reports, and educational materials to support widespread adoption. Outcomes will include increased grower confidence in PGR use, reduced input costs, and improved environmental sustainability. These efforts will strengthen the capability of the Australian turf industry to produce high-quality, natural turf while aligning with the Turf Strategic Investment Plan 2022–2026.
