What is it all about?

This investment supports two Hort Innovation-sponsored AgriFutures Horizon Scholarships in 2022 and 2023.

The AgriFutures Horizon Scholarship is a two-year program for students in their final two years of an agricultural-related undergraduate degree or a STEM degree with relevant majors which align to agriculture. In partnership with industry sponsors, the goal of the Horizon Scholarship is to support the next generation of rural leaders that will drive the future prosperity of Australian rural industries and communities.

In addition to a $10,000 bursary, the Horizon Scholarship provides several opportunities for the Scholar to develop professionally, including:

Partnerships with industry leaders
Professional development workshops
Annual industry work placements aligned with the Scholars’ areas of interest and their sponsor’s industry
Opportunities to network and gain knowledge at a range of industry events
Exposure to employment opportunities during and after undergraduate study.
