The 2026 Agronomy Australia Conference will be held in Darwin, where we will gather under the theme “Agronomy for a Diverse Future.”
This theme speaks to the growing need for diversity in all facets of agronomy – from the crops we grow and the systems we manage, to the landscapes we steward and the technologies we adopt.
With subthemes ranging from crop and farming systems diversity to the integration of Indigenous knowledge, emerging technologies, and multidisciplinary science, this conference invites us to think expansively and act collaboratively.
The unique location in northern Australia offers a rich context to explore these ideas. We are also excited to offer a range of field trips to showcase local innovation and regional expertise – including visits to the Douglas Daly and Katherine Research Stations, the Frank Wise Institute in Kununurra, a climate-smart commercial farm, the Katherine Cotton Gin, and Darwin’s export hub. These experiences will bring our conference themes to life in the landscape itself.
