At Hort Innovation, we invest in research and development (R&D), marketing and trade to help Australian growers stay productive, competitive and ready for the future.

One way we do this is by providing horticulture industries access to crop protection through minor use permits (MUP). This regulatory support may include data generation as required by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).

Access to effective crop protection tools is essential for managing production risks, maintaining crop quality and supporting farm productivity. By investing in data generation activities, Hort Innovation helps address gaps where solutions may not currently be available for horticultural industries, supports integrated pest management approaches, and helps industries respond to emerging pest and disease challenges.  

Projects may be funded through industry levies, grant funding or other targeted investment activities.
