Avo’ Happy Mother’s Day: Six beloved cafés and restaurants celebrate mum this May with creative Australian avocado-themed menus

Publication date: May 7, 2026

Like mum’s limitless love (and her uncanny ability to know when you’re hungry), Australian Avocados are always there when you need them - fresh, versatile, and delicious any time of year.

This May, in celebration of Mother’s Day, six beloved cafés and restaurants across Singapore pay tribute to Mum with a month-long showcase from 1 to 31 May, featuring playful and creative Australian Avocado-themed menus - because nothing says “I love you, Mum” quite like a nourishing meal at the table.

“We’re very excited to be bringing this programme to Singapore for the first time, especially around Mother’s Day, an occasion that is celebrated with family time around the table. Australian Avocados are an easy fit any time of the day - they’re delicious, packed full of goodness and work just as well in simple, everyday dishes as they do in more creative plates,” says Flora Zhang, General Manager (Export) at Avocados Australia.

Dining hotspots serve up the Australian avo love

Across Singapore, six of the hottest cafés and restaurants show their love for Mum with Australian avocado-themed menus running from 1 to 31 May. Diners can enjoy mouth-watering starters (or something to sip), mains, and desserts thoughtfully crafted to champion this much-loved fruit. From light and bright to rich and indulgent plates, every dish showcases the versatility of Australian Avocados in its own delicious way.

Participating restaurants and cafés include Frankie & Fern’s, a whimsical rooftop brunch spot in Holland Village where vintage charm meets long, lazy afternoons; Flamingo - a vibrant dual-concept space on Amoy Street, café by day and wine bar by night, where brunch meets buzz in the heart of the CBD; and Café Melba, a lifestyle café blending Melbourne chic with Asian warmth, centred around community, comfort, and connection.

Also joining the line-up are Boomarang Bistro & Bar, a proudly Australian mainstay along the serene Robertson Quay waterfront and a cornerstone of Singapore’s social and sports culture; Binge, a Muslim-owned café and well-loved haunt in the trendy Tiong Bahru neighbourhood serving up premium halal fare; and Jimmy Monkey - an Australian-inspired café nestled amidst lush greenery, known for its easygoing charm, good coffee, and even better conversations.

Australian Avocados are highlighted across savoury and sweet creations. Binge’s Avo Kryptonite leans into comfort with an Australian avocado hummus sandwich paired with a bright Asian salad, sautéed mushrooms and grilled halloumi. At Jimmy Monkey, The Hulk brings together smashed Australian avocado, feta and housemade Dukkah on toasted sourdough for a deeply satisfying, nourishing main. Boomarang Bistro & Bar’s wholesome Soy Glazed Chicken & Avocado Bowl layers Australian avocado, tomatoes, spinach and crispy shallots over a bed of quinoa.  For a sweet finish, Frankie & Fern’s showcases the versatility of the Australian avocado with their Avocado and Vanilla Brûlée, a creamy, vanilla-infused Australian avocado and mascarpone custard, concealed beneath a burnished sugar crust. While Australian avocados lend a silky richness and body to Café Melba’s vegan Avo Chocolate Mousse with chocolate crumbs and mixed berries. And at Flamingo, the Avo-Press proves the perfect indulgent treat with their own lime-infused housemade avocado ‘Kaya’ anointed with a double shot of espresso for good measure.

Each venue brings its own personality to the table - but the hero remains the same: Australian Avocados, celebrated for their unrivalled and distinctive quality.

Avo good time at home

Prefer to keep celebrations at home? Australian Avocados have you covered, whether you’re team Hass or team Shepard. Loved for their creamy, rich texture, the Hass variety is a trusted go-to almost all year round. While Shepard avocados, available exclusively for a limited time between March and May, are a true Aussie original, and offer a nutty flavour and buttery texture.

No cooking is required. Simply smash on toast, blend into a green smoothie, toss into vibrant salads, or wrap it up to make a creamy popiah. The kitchen possibilities are endless.

Naturally Nutritious, Naturally Delicious

Beyond their flavour, avocados are rich in good fats - one of the only fruits, to contain heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. These healthy fats help with nutrient absorption, heart health, and overall wellbeing.

A source of niacin (vitamin B3) and folate (vitamin B9), avocados are also good mood food that will ensure you have a better day. Rich in fibre, just a quarter of an avocado (50g) counts as 1 serve of vegetables.

Naturally nutrient-dense, avocados are a welcome, versatile addition to the table and a wholesome choice for all ages - from bolstering healthy pregnancies to nourishing growing families.
