• Managing the development, analysis and execution of policy on current and emerging issues
  
  
• Overseeing and managing technical and environmental issues that could threaten the sustainability of the industry
  
  
• Industry environmental, technical and issues management.

The overarching goals of the project included increasing the market for plants and greenlife in the urban environment; communicating the benefit of plants to all industry participants, influencers at all levels of government, and consumers; and ensuring the industry had processes in place in relation to governance and biosecurity.

The project resulted in the ongoing representation of the nursery sector as a signatory to the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed managed by Plant Health Australia. It provided technical input, links to industry and oversight and contribution to governance of the 202020 Vision marketing program.

Meetings with state nursery and garden industry were held and member and stakeholder meetings were attended to provide updates on nursery levy funded issues, while there was collaboration with Hort Innovation on the development and commissioning of a new biosecurity program for the Australian nursery industry. The project also resulted in the continued management of a number of nursery-levy-funded projects.
