What was it all about?

The Nursery Industry Young Leader Development Program seeks to identify, recognise and reward individuals in the nursery and garden industry who display exceptional commitment and passion for their industry. The program also strives to develop future leaders and provide opportunity for them to contribute meaningfully to industry matters.

This project operated in conjunction with Nursery & Garden Awards and identified nursery industry young leaders across the years of 2014 and 2015.

The two winners were Daniel Ewings (2014) and Chantal Tenace (2015). The winners and the other four finalists were provided with opportunities for professional and personal development including three scholarships, business coaching, and participation at the future leaders forum.

The project achieved:

• An increase in the professionalism and business skills of the individuals
• Identification of young leader development needs
• Assistance in succession planning into the future
• Promotion of the industry.
