National Bee Pest Surveillance Program (PH25001)
This project supports the continuation of the National Bee Pest Surveillance Program (NBPSP), a coordinated, risk-based initiative to detect exotic and regionally significant bee pests.
Completed project
Generation of pesticide data – Sigastus weevil (MC17007)
Publication date: December 9, 2018
Delivery Partner: Peracto
Earlier research in the Hort Innovation Macadamia Fund looked at a number of insecticides for their effectiveness in controlling Sigastus weevil, leading to two effective formulations being singled out for potential use.
Beginning in August 2018, this investment involved field trials with these products to produce residue, crop safety and efficacy data, which were used to support the renewal of the minor use permit for indoxacarb in macadamias.
Details of current minor use permits for the macadamia industry can be found on the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority website at portal.apvma.gov.au/permits.
This project was a strategic levy investment in the Hort Innovation Macadamia Fund
