    What was it all about?

The program helped prune growers stay informed about recent research, learn best practices, and gain a better understanding of the prune levy system and the role of Hort Innovation. As a result, prune growers were better informed and supported to make more confident business decisions, with stronger connections across the industry and improved uptake of R&D outcomes.

The project delivered a coordinated program of industry communications and face‑to‑face engagement. This included regular articles in The Vine magazine, frequent Ausprunes e‑news editions, grower field events and annual grower forums. An overseas prune industry expert also visited Australia, presenting at the industry conference and meeting with growers on farm. A Project Reference Group guided activities to ensure content remained relevant and practical.

The project addressed the ongoing need for timely, trusted information to help prune growers keep up with new research, emerging risks, market trends and changes to best practice. It also responded to the need for clearer understanding of how levy funds are invested and how growers can engage with industry decision‑making.

These activities are expected to support stronger adoption of best practice, improve capability across the prune industry, and contribute to long‑term profitability, resilience and sustainability for Australian prune growers.
