Closing date: December 8, 2026
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Macadamia Regional Variety Trials - 2027-2032 (MC26001).
The business objectives of the services being sought are to:
1) Provide trials and assessments across regions of macadamia selections from the breeding program that:
- Use industry standard planting material in trials
- Produce quality comparative performance data and analyses against existing varieties
- Provide information suitable for identifying selections for the potential commercial release of new varieties and for PBR purposes.
- Produce information to assist growers in decision making when selecting new varieties.
2) Provide trials and phenotyping methods appropriate to a structured rolling front selection assessment model based on multi-tree plots that provide high quality data at some sites (core-activity trials) and at other sites provide growers with opportunities to trial selections through non-core trials.
3) Facilitate trials that provide both early adoption of promising selections opportunities and adequate budwood to support the potential commercial release of new varieties, through grower based non-core trials using strip or other large plot single-selection planting methods. Engage with growers in these trials who will provide some data.
