Retail insights dashboard to boost grower profitability and decision-making
Publication date: September 23, 2026
Australian vegetable and onion growers often have limited visibility of what is driving changes in their category performance.
A new initiative unlocking access to Woolworths retail intelligence aims to address this - providing clearer insight into what’s happening on the shelf and what’s influencing it, from price response to shopper behaviour and product trends.
Funded by Hort Innovation, the project delivers a custom-built dashboard that provides levy payers with continuous, self-service access to relevant insights on category performance within one of Australia’s largest fruit and vegetable retailers.
Karina Keisler, General Manager, Marketing and Communications at Hort Innovation, said: “This is about putting powerful retail data directly into the hands of growers. It is a scalable solution that delivers immediate value for growers by helping them optimise pricing, forecasting, growing and product development decisions, while also building long-term analytical capabilities across horticulture.”
The dashboard features weekly data (with a one-month lag), comprehensive filtering options, monthly webinars, usage guides, and recorded training materials to help growers apply the insights to real-world decisions.
Gi Lee from Quantium added: “We’ve designed this platform to be intuitive and impactful by combining shopper scan insights with tailored support and training. We’re helping growers make faster, more informed decisions that can directly benefit their bottom line.”
By leveraging data from one of Australia’s largest fruit and vegetable retailers, the project aims to increase grower profitability and market competitiveness. It also has the potential to expand into additional levy fund categories, enabling cross-industry intelligence.
This project (MT25003) is funded by Hort Innovation, using the Mushroom, Vegetable and Onion research and development levies and contributions from the Australian Government.
