What is it all about?

This investment will establish the first nationally coordinated communications and extension program for the Australian nashi industry. 

The Australian nashi industry is made up of growers across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Western Australia. Despite a history of industry research and development, growers have not previously had access to a dedicated communications program, industry website or coordinated platform for sharing information and sector knowledge.  

Working with growers and industry stakeholders, this project will turn research findings and other industry knowledge into practical resources that growers can use in their businesses. The program will also create new ways for growers to connect, share experiences and learn from one another, while supporting new entrants with access to reliable technical information. 

A range of communication and extension activities will be delivered throughout the project, including newsletters, fact sheets, webinars, field tours, a dedicated website and industry database. By improving access to information and strengthening connections across the industry, the program aims to increase awareness of levy-funded research, support better on-farm decision-making, and help build a more resilient and connected nashi industry.
