What is it all about?

This project is investigating whether atmospheric water generation technology could help Australian dried grape growers create more consistent drying conditions and reduce weather-related risks during a critical stage of production. 

Drying conditions play a key role in fruit quality and value, with high humidity increasing the risk of spoilage and product degradation. The project will assess the technical and economic feasibility of using atmospheric water generators (AWGs) to reduce humidity in drying environments and support more reliable dehydration outcomes. 

The study will evaluate the technology's performance under Australian conditions, identify practical applications within existing drying systems, and develop a return-on-investment model to help growers understand the potential costs, benefits and feasibility of adoption. 

By providing evidence-based insights, the project aims to help growers and industry make informed decisions about the future use of this emerging technology.
