What’s it all about?

The Annual Vegetable Industry Seminar 2019 was held during Hort Connections 2019 to share information with 250 levy-paying vegetable growers about agricultural innovations based on research, technology or export that are currently in development.

The seminar was the latest in a series of highly successful seminars for growers, including the 2016-2018 Global Innovations in Horticulture Seminars, and Export Opportunity Symposiums for carrots, sweet corn, bean, broccoli and baby leaf growers.

The investment showcased key presenters who presented new information related to increasing the profitability, efficiency and productivity of Australian horticultural farming operations. Funding was provided for 250 vegetable growers to attend from horticultural regions across Australia.

The seminar drew attention to new concepts for R&D levy investment, and demonstrated the importance of collaboration between vegetable producers, global researchers, and key industry stakeholders to increase productivity. The seminar also aimed to provide value to growers through a series of educational sessions covering various elements of their businesses.

The feedback from the Australian vegetable growers who attended the event was very positive.
