Export facilitators (VG16085)

Key research provider: Vegetables WA
Publication date: Wednesday, December 30, 2020

What was it all about?

This collaborative program, which ran from 2018 to 2020, supported growers to capitalise on commercial business opportunities to increase Australian vegetable exports. It supported the roles and activities of export facilitators across Australia’s vegetable growing regions.

These facilitators were located in Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia, with the Western Australia Facilitator also servicing South Australia, and together they formed a facilitator network across Australia. They created export plans in conjunction with 30 vegetable growing businesses to promote collaboration within the industry and provide linkages across the supply chain.

Key activities included, but were not limited to:

  • Providing growers with information on specific export issues
  • Advising growers about export opportunities
  • Inviting growers to participate in industry development export activities
  • Providing updates to growers on changes to export requirements.

The program also supported the delivery of the of the national Vegetable Industry Development Strategy and the national Vegetable industry export program (VG16061) facilitated by the export development team at AUSVEG.
