Key research provider: Control Risks Group
Publication date: Monday, July 26, 2021

What was it all about?

Running from 2019 to 2021, this investment reviewed and updated the Australian melon industry’s crisis management guidelines and ensured information and processes are established in the event of an issue or crisis. Project activities included:

  • Updating and enhancing the crisis management plan (CMP). These updates were informed through a detailed gap analysis report for the CMP.
  • Conducting a risk management workshop to increase awareness of potential risks to the melon industry. Key areas discussed were risk identification, threat identification, analysis of peer industries and updates to the industry risk register.
  • Training and establishment of a core crisis management team (CMT) to protect the industry’s people, operations and reputation in the event of a crisis. This also included providing crisis management media training for nominated CMT members to act as spokespersons.
