What is this webinar about?

The Hort Innovation Industry trade advisory panel (iTAP) has been meeting fortnightly since March, to facilitate learnings across multiple exporting industries regarding impacts of COVID on exports. While impacts have not been detrimental to some industries to date, key concerns for exporters remain around airfreight capacity into the future. Current airfreight capacity is significantly reduced in line with reduced international passenger travel, and those industries that are heavily reliant on airfreight are understandably concerned about the season to come. A recent report reviewing historical export data has modelled potential impacts on the next season.

This webinar is part two of a two-part series. The first instalment looked at the latest trade data and unpacked the performance of fresh horticulture exports across the fruit, vegetable, nut and amenity sectors over the last 12 months and provided perspective on the major markets and products driving growth trends. More information on the first session can be viewed here.

Insights

  • How trade data is helping support the industry through this period, and continuing research on understanding export supply logistics, and matching production and export aspirations with air freight and sea freight capacity
  • The revised process to help industries pursue market access aspirations
