About the speakers

Sam Turner – Research & Development Manager of Trade at Hort Innovation

Sam is an experienced R&D manager and Hort Innovation. Sam is well versed in the capabilities of different industries, having managed portfolios as diverse as vegetables, onions, melons, citrus and apples and pears.

Sam’s strong agricultural grounding, having grown up managing beef grazing properties, and previously working as a production agronomist for Australian seed company South Pacific Seeds.

He is an Agricultural Science graduate from La Trobe University. Skilled in Strategic Planning, Export, and Sustainable Agriculture. He is currently studying a Masters of Agribusiness at Marcus Oldham, strengthening his professional interest in marketing and trade.

Julie Wills, Manager, International Market Development at Hort Innovation

Julie manages activities such as trade events, marketing campaigns, product launches, in-bound missions and seminars under the whole-of-industry export brand Taste Australia. These activities help increase the profile, sales and consumption of premium horticulture products in key export markets predominately across Asia and the Middle East.
