Spray Drift Audit and Risk Assessment tender

HAL is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced consultant/consultancy team to conduct an audit and risk assessment of spray drift management in horticulture. The audit will require an assessment of the current and best practice in horticulture pesticide application and management across a representative range of horticultural crops and locations; and a risk assessment of chemical spray drift risks in a similarly representative sample of horticulture. The audit and risk assessment are required to determine the risk and appropriate Drift Reduction Technologies (DRT) being employed on-farm as part of common and best management practice. The size of any reduction in risk between common and best practice will be used to determine the required investment in drift minimisation and in discussions with the APVMA on the impact of imposed downwind buffer zones and the extent to which this approach can be improved.
